We offer two course formats to prepare students to take the NYC Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT)
4-Session Mini Course
Offered in the Spring (March 2025)
Locations: Upper West Side and Upper East Side.
GRF's 4-Session Spring Mini-Course provides an introduction to the types of questions that are tested on the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT). Each of the 4 sessions is 3 hours in length. The Spring Mini-Course is helpful for students who want to begin preparing for the SHSAT before taking the GRF 10-Session Course, which will be offered during the Summer and Fall of 2024. The reading comprehension passages, poems, and math questions used in the Mini-Course will be different from the ones used in our 10-Session Course.

Offered in the Summer (July - August) and Fall (September - October)
Location: Upper West Side and Upper East Side
​​We teach and review all of the types of ELA and Mathematics questions that are tested on the exam.
Our Homework Assignments always include questions that are similar to those asked on previous years' exams. The GRF Course teaches test taking techniques that help students to achieve a higher score.
We provide our students with Five Complete Practice Exams that are similar to those given in recent years. We administer one of these exams under test conditions during session # 9 of our Ten-Session course. Each session is 3 hours long. A report card is sent home each session to keep the student's parents informed of the student's progress. Past experience has shown the GRF Course provides excellent preparation for the SHSAT.
